The South African Paralympic champion Oscar Pistorius has requested the assistance of U.S. forensic experts to help prepare his defense at his trial for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, scheduled to open in March 2014.
"It is normal practice to work with experts to prepare a trial," said spokesman Oscar Pistorius Annelise vanderbeke Burgess, who confirmed to AFP that experts had arrived in South Africa.
The champion, bail, has never denied the murder, but said he killed his girlfriend by mistake, believing shoot a burglar entered his home through the bathroom window.
